Information for Participants
宗旨
為培養本校醫學院學生英語簡報力、提升雙語思維力和激發創意力，特辦理醫學院「全英語金頭腦科研簡報競賽」活動，希冀學生可藉由「生命科學、社會科學、倫理議題、醫療科技、或人文藝術等」等多元研究題目，由醫學院教師參與指導競賽，培育學生科研能力，厚植本院學生國際競爭力，進而引導具潛力大學生加入MD/PhD預研生的行列，栽培未來國際科研領袖人才。
Objective
In order to cultivate students’ English presentation skills and stimulate their creativity, the College of Medicine will hold an "All-English Golden Brain Research Presentation Competition". Students can present various research topics, such as life science, social science, ethical issues, medical technology, or humanities and arts, etc. Under the guidance of their advisors, students’ research skills and international competitiveness will be cultivated. In addition, this competition aims to encourage potential students to join the MD/PhD program and cultivate future international research leaders.

申請資格
一、本校大學部學生及研究生，採個人或團體(5名內)報名參賽。
1)大學部:
a)曾修習或正修習「獨立研究」或「專題研究」之學生，或
b)曾修習或正修習全英語授課(EMI)課程之學生
2)研究所:具有個人研究計畫者之碩士生（簡報內容以個人研究計畫為限）
*註:也歡迎研究生和大學部同學組隊參賽。
二、每人限參加一組隊伍，各組需設組長1名。
三、組員、主題於報名截止後不得更換。
四、本次競賽限定10組；若超過10組報名，將另進行初選公告。【註: 研究計畫書面資料請以標楷體14號字形、行距1.15，不超過三頁為限。如超過3頁，將不具初選資格。研究計畫書需包含: 研究背景與動機、研究目的、研究方法、預期成果、文獻參考或參考書目。研究計畫書格式，請參附件二。】研究計畫書下載
Qualifications
1. Students can apply individually or in groups (within 5 students)
1) Undergraduate:
(i) Students who have taken or are taking "independent research" or "special research" at the College of Medicine, or
(ii) Students who have taken or are taking English as a medium of instruction (EMI) courses.
2) Graduate Institute: Graduate students with personal research proposal (presentation content is limited to personal research proposal).
Note: Graduate students and undergraduate students are also encouraged to form teams to participate in the competition.
2. Students can apply individually or in groups (within 5 students). Each student can only participate in one group, and each group must have a group leader. Group members and topics cannot be changed after the application deadline. The competition is limited to 10 groups; if more than 10 teams apply, a preliminary selection announcement will be made. (Note: The research proposal should be in Times New Roman, 14-point font size, 1.15 line spacing, and no more than three pages. If your research proposal exceeds 3 pages, you will be disqualified from the preliminary selection. The research proposal should include the following content: research background and motivation, research objectives, research methodology, expected outcomes, and reference/bibliography. 競賽說明:
1) 參賽順序由主辦單位抽號決定。(將於112年3月31日公告比賽流程表)。
2) 競賽方式：總分100分，由決賽團隊進行現場全英語口頭簡報，每組以5分鐘為限，包含口頭報告時間3分鐘，Q&A時間2分鐘。（以屆時公告為主）
3) 除英文口頭簡報之外，也可使用任何創意器材輔具，但請留意時間。
4) 比序同分時由評審決議，並依評審宣布之結果為最終決定。
5) 各組需於繳件截止日112年3月24日(五)下午5點前，由組長寄送研究計劃書電子檔和競賽簡報ppt電子檔至shuen@cmu.edu.tw，檔案繳交後不得變更，競賽當日將以該資料進行評比。敬請以英文撰寫研究計劃書和呈現競賽簡報內容。
6) 競賽日期：112年4月7日(五)上午10:00~12:00

Submission
1. All team leaders must submit: a) a research proposal (within 3 pages), and b) presentation slides (electronic file) to shuen@cmu.edu.tw before the deadline (March 24th, 2023, before 5:00 pm). The files submitted will be used for evaluation on the day of the competition; therefore, no modification can be made after submission.
2. Date of competition: April 7th, 2023 (Fri), 10:00am~12:00pm
3. Venue: 6F, Classroom 601, Professional Classroom of School of Medicine, Medical Building, Yingcai Campus
4. Competition explanation: The total score is 100%. Each team needs to deliver an oral presentation in English, which is limited to 5 minutes per team, including 3 minutes for oral presentation and 2 minutes for Q&A. (Note: All presentations and Q&A sessions must be conducted in English).

競賽獎勵辦法
一、參與競賽之組隊與指導老師均頒予參賽證書乙紙。
二、獎項評定及頒發由評選委員會議決議之，必要時得以「從缺」辦理。
三、本競賽活動之使用經費，擬由教育部111學年度「大專校院學生雙語化學習計畫-重點培育學院」經費項下支應。本活動獎勵類別和獎金額度如下:
